We are doing a basic apolgetic’s study in our small group.
My question about confession and forgiveness is as follows.
When you go to confession get absolution for those sins and we are forgiven for those sins is there any temporal punishment to be paid?
I know that you have to have a clean slate in order to enter into heaven and if you have any venial sins you go to purgatory for those sins.
My understanding is even though we are forgiven for the sins we commit we have consequences that have to be paid for said sins.
Thanks
