Does it matter what Saint you pray to for certain things?

Does it matter what Saint you pray to for certain things? I have prayed to Saint Anthony when I lost something and needed to find it. Other Saints are considered patron saints of different things. I have specifically prayed for a wife to St. Raphael. Have not met her yet. lol.

Does it really matter what Saints we pray to with our prayer intentions?

Have you ever felt like you need or want to pray to a specific saint? For some reason I want to learn more about Saint Stephen or Hungary and feel that I should pray to him. I do not know why. Where can i find a free online book about him? Why do I feel the need to pray to him?

I think that Saint Aquinas said that certain saints are more willing or have more control over occasions or problems or virtues that correspond to themselves.

Some saints were known to help with certain intentions, or were martyred for certain reasons and so are known to intercede/help with those particular needs when we ask for their help and intercession for those same situations.

Sometimes we might just feel inspired to pray about something.

There are some websites that you can sign up for, where you can get information from regarding a saint of the day e-mail, for example.

They’ll tell you what feast day it is, for which saint.

No, any saint can help you, but a lot of us like the tradition of associating certain saints with certain things.

Pray to him then. I don’t know why you’d feel the need to pray to him specifically, maybe the Holy Spirit is inspiring you.
You can google “St Stephen of Hungary” and find Wikipedia and many other sources with little biographies of him.
