Christians,
do you believe Jesus always knows the future, even as he was in human form?
and how do you reconcile these two contradicting statements in the bible
Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father (Matthew 24)
“I (Jesus) and the Father are One.” (John 10:30)
If the Father and the Son are One in the literal sense, then how do you explain Jesus not knowing (or have seen) the hour?
Consider this
1Cor2
1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Paul here says he has come to the Corinthian church for one reason and that is to declare the testimony of God and this is accomplished according to Paul by **not knowing **“any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” The point is that Paul by not knowing any thing but Jesus among them is saying that he will not announce or preach anything other than the gospel. OK, now apply this to Matt. 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. What Jesus is saying here is that it is totally under the authority of the Father to announce the exact time of Jesus return. This seems to be born out in
Rev.14:14And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
15And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
16And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
Here we see Jesus sitting on a cloud awaiting the word to reap the earth and He does not do so until the angel comes out of the temple (which is the abode of the Father) with the word to begin harvesting the earth.
