Thanks! that’s an awesome, obvious one i missed but is super helpful!!! God bless you!

Yes. In fact, earlier this year I embarrassingly saw people who said they were Catholic, but said that Jesus isn’t our friend. I mean, he laid down his life for us, and what does a friend do?John 15:13

In line with what @VeryBlessed said above, a few years ago a well-known Catholic philosopher named Linda Trinkaus Zagzebski developed a really interesting theory about an attribute of God–namely, that God is omnisubjective. Omnisubjectivity is a mouthful, but the theory is rather beautiful.

Zagzebski writes,
"If God is omniscient, he must know every aspect of his creation, including the conscious states of his creatures. An omniscient being would have to have the deepest grasp of every object of knowledge, including the conscious states of every creature. My thesis is that omniscience entails a property I call omnisubjectivity. I will explain this property in more detail as the paper progresses, but briefly, it is the property of consciously grasping with perfect accuracy and completeness the first-person perspective of every conscious being. I will use the model of human empathy to argue that omnisubjectivity does not require identity with every conscious being. This property explains how an omniscient being is able to distinguish between first person and third person knowledge of the same fact, and it explains how an omniscient being is able to know what it is like for conscious creatures to have their distinctive sensations and emotions, moods, and attitudes.
Omnisubjectivity has radical consequences for the way God hears prayers. An omnisubjective deity would not be like a very close listener, but rather, God would know your prayers the way you know them, when you first have the desire, then possibly struggle for the words, and perhaps use the wrong words. Omnisubjectivity would also be an important concomitant of providence."
I don’t know if omnisubjectivity is true. But, I do know that it is a beautiful theory capable of giving a believer enormous comfort. I hope it helps your mind & heart!

Thank you. Just today I was grasping for words through strong emotions during prayer. Without using words I “asked “ God silently/spiritually to please understand what I am trying to say. When I did that I trusted that He did and then I felt calmer and then I continued to pray. I have a problem explaining myself well, sometimes I ask God to please allow me to just sit here and “feel” my prayer when I especially don’t feel well and need His healing. And then I just sit there and try to declutter my mind and ask His help in calming these thoughts and cluttered emotions as well. I am certain words are not necessary for Him to understand, anyway scripture tells us the spirit groans I think that is what I experience sometimes. Thank you for sharing.
