Does Mary pray for us?

I often wonder when I recite ‘Hail Mary’, does Mary always accept my request to pray for me over a few things?

I am not a Catholic, but I found myself reciting Hail Mary! I don’t know how I was drawn towards praying that recite. I wonder if it is like as if I ask a friend to pray for me?

Can you help me understand this clearly? I would be grateful for your help in this one. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
