I have been trying to find an answer to this question for some time but have been unable to find one that matched my exact circumstances. I attend mass every morning at 7:00 AM however I am on medication for Adult ADD and the best time to take this medication is at 6:30 AM, while its not absolutely necessary that I take it at that time it does work best because: if I take it at that time it is working by the time I go to my first class, if I take it after mass then it hasn’t quite started to work in my morning class. And if I wait until after mass then the chances of me forgetting to take my meds go up. There is the possibility of taking them before 6:00 AM but everything seems to work best when I take them at 6:30.
My question is this: does taking the medication at 6:30 interrupt the Eucharist fast? I know that medication is not prohibited by the fast but I don’t know if that holds true in my circumstances since it’s not necessary that I take them at that time just the most convenient. Can you help me?
