GrandalfTheWhite,
As I have been following the post of this thread I realize that your knowledge of Church dogma is far superior to mine and I may have fallen into the error of mistaking theological opinion for Church doctrine.
So I am hoping you can enlighten me, all of us participating in this discussion, just what is the offical Church teaching from the documents of Vatican II and the encyclical letters of popes Paul VI and John Paul II and Benedict XVI on who can be saved and how?
I am also interested, in and I think this is revelant to our discussion, does the teaching of Vatican II restrict the concept of the Church just to the Roman Catholic Church or does the teaching of Vatican II as well as the encyclical letters of popes Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI expand the definition of “Church” beyond the Roman Catholic Church?
