Does Planned Parenthood have an agenda?

Since Catholics would have nothing to do with Planned Parenthood, this question is for our Protestant friends although I would appreciate (name removed by moderator)ut from Catholics as well.
Does Planned Parenthood have an agenda to morally corrupt our children? Is their goal to take the place of the parental responsibility of sex education? All Christians should be against pre-martial sex. Planned Parenthood seems to push teenagers in that direction and even glorifies it.
Here are several examples. They have a website that is designed for teenagers. A question was asked about pornography. Nowhere does the “ expert” say that pornography is dangerous and should be avoided.

"Dear Experts,

I look at porno sites but I got all A for my subjects People say looking at those sites affect your school work, but since i think i’m not affected, should i stop it? If i should, how?"

Pornography is sexually arousing imagery. Some people prefer to call it “erotica” because the word pornography is sometimes used to describe material that may be considered offensive and obscene.

In any case, many people enjoy using pornography or erotica as a part of their sex play — alone or with a partner.

There’s no correlation between using pornography and getting bad grades in school. However, when any repeated behavior affects a person’s ability to meet his or her responsibilities, it’s called compulsive and that person may need help to cut down on that particular behavior — whether it’s washing your hands over and over, checking to make sure you’ve locked the door hundreds of times, or checking to see if the burners are still on.

There is no indication that using pornography causes problems as long as it does not interfere with other aspects of a person’s life. Just keep in mind that pornography is actually illegal in United States for people under 18."

They certainly have an agenda. Originally it was exterminating minorities and disabled people, as outlined by the racist atheistic founder of PP, Margaret Sanger.

Today it is creating a sexually perverted ogry nationwide, for reasons unknown to any civilized person.

I’'m Catholic, definitely agree there’s an agenda.

I just had to comment on this letter discussing pornography with a child. They (PP) have such a different mindset, they probably see nothing wrong with it. After discussing sex play & erotica, they mention at the very end that it is ILLEGAL for those under age, wink, wink. Did it mention the child’s age on the website? It could have been a 5th grader for all they know or care! :mad:

no. they do not wake up in the morning and say, “hey, let’s go morally corrupt the children!” the things they do can morally corrupt our society but i do not think that is their agenda. they are starting from a different place than us with their values and what they believe to be true. if some one’s life isn’t centered on God, should we expect anything else from them?

on this one i will say yes. i think they think they know better than most parents (unless those parents agree with them and donate money 👍 ) and that is why they push their ideas into schools and public arenas and attempt to circumvent the parents. at time they even try to use the courts to do so.

i would say that most do simply because they attack the authority of parents. one of the core protestant values is autonomy and PP seems to want to tear into that.

as for the values reason, i think most protestants do oppose the efforts of PP, but on a case by case basis. trying to prevent the spread of STD’s and teen pregnancies is a good thing. their methods are questionable but the intent on those issues is good. their support for abortion rights and even their counseling for women to receive abortions as a means of birth control are abhorent to most protestants. most people don’t know the beginnings of PP and are therefore completely in the dark (this includes most of the volunteers and workers at PP which is why they have an enormous amount of minority employees and volunteers) on the racist beliefs (verging on genocidal) as well as the belief that handicapped babies are worth less than healthy ones so that does not enter into it for most people.
 
Realistically speaking, EVERY group has an agenda. The question isn’t, “Does a group have an agenda,” but “Do I agree with the group’s agenda?” or “Does this group’s agenda conflict with the Church’s agenda?”

It should be fairly obvious that the agenda for Planned Parenthood conflicts with the Church’s agenda.

Does Planned Parenthood have an agenda? Do fish swim?
 
They definetly have an agenda, but it isn’t to be evil.

Their Vision according to their website is, "Planned Parenthood Federation of America will leverage strength through our affiliated structure to be the nation’s most trusted provider of sexual and reproductive health care, an authoritative and passionate advocate for our clients and society, and at the forefront of developing the next generation of leaders of the sexual and reproductive health and social justice movement. "

So it seems as if, at least in their own opinion, their agenda and intentions are for good. Of course we know that the road to you-know-where is paved with good intentions so we as Christians must educate and inform those in Planned Parenthood that, while their intentions may be good, their actions are evil (and evil being against the will of God.) This must be done with the humility and love of Christ.

Well, someone at least quoted something from the PP website.

PP believes in its title, that parenthood should be planned, that is, desired. That the happiest child is a planned child. That sex education and contraception can help avoid unplanned pregnancies, unwanted children and abortions.

The vast majority of Protestants support Planned Parenthood. A lot of Catholics do too, and if they don’t support it, they sure practice that it preaches.
 
Planned Parenthood as an entity or organisation has an agenda just like every business which is to make money. Money, money, money. They are probably more focused on the money than the original reason for their existence. (e.g. eugenics and eliminating the african americans and disabled)

On a local level, clinic to clinic, we do not know the agenda of each individual manager, case worker and clinic volunteer. I think it is fair to say that many volunteers probably work at PP for altruistic and well-intentioned reasons. I have known some case-workers and employees to work there because it was the only place they could find work. I think the leaders, or managers, are a bit easier to tag as “after the gold” but even then, they might have had personal reasons for joining the company.

Of course, with good examples, I also have bad examples. I recall debating a user on livejournal about PP. He was a volunteer who claimed to assist in abortions because they only had one abortionist on staff. He said it made him happy to abort the female humans. Not exactly a happy character if you get my drift.

Another example is that of an urban/minority teacher who would post on her journal about the (and I quote here) “poor, useless black kids who are a burden on our society.” She said she volunteered as a “pro-choice chaplain” (the ones that wear the little vests and escort the women into the clinic. She clearly stated it was her goal to eliminate inner-city minorities.

Perhaps this kid’s parents ought to pay more attention to what he’s up to, block his computer access, etc. The problem in this case seems to be a lack of parental supervision.

Boy, your bad examples are really bad. I’m somewhat surprised that they admitted these things. You can’t know the truthful intentions of all the folks you work with, of course, but you’d hope that folks like these would be unable to find such “satisfying” work. Yuck. 😦

If only their agenda was simply that. It would be bad enough. Unfortunately, I believe it to be much darker, deeper and sinister than that. It’s subtle, but clear if you trace out their stands and practices. Their ‘agenda’ is eugenics. One of the extremes of this philosophy is genocide, such as that practiced by the Nazi Party under HItler in the 30’s and 40’s. It’s pretty chilling stuff, all dressed up in a pretty dress and a bow nowadays as it’s fed to our children. It involves the elimination of the poor, weak and diseased through selective breeding, then allowance of life, abortion, euthenasia, IVF etc. At times I feel like the anti-bio-ethical propaganda is too overwhelming, too entrenched, and perhaps past the tipping point, but I study and pray on this deeply and often. Anything you may hear in the way of positives to PP and other such outfits, is simply putting lipstick on a pig.

It’s abhorrent, but not necessarily surprising. They have no feeling of wrongfulness. For example, a prior coworker talked about how he wants the government to kill anyone with a certain IQ, including all mentally ill and disabled people.

It’s the same old, same old. 🤷
