Depends on which Jews you’re talking aboutWell, you’re about to learn something else. In the source you gave me, it talked about the Old Testament and said it was written in Hebrew. This is only true if you exclude the apocryphal books, because 6 of the 7 were written in Greek and the other was written in Latin. **Jews did not ever call them sacred scriptures. **
The OT
- was translated into Greek because the Jews were not speaking hebrew in the diaspora. There were more Jews in the diaspora than there were in Palastine.
- Greek was the language of the NT. Therefore, all the quotes from the OT in the NT, came from the Septuagint which is the Greek translation.
The Jews that selected the OT sans the 7 books were called blind guides, hypocrits, whitewashed tombs by Jesus. These are the guys YOU followed in selecting your scripture. The Church Jesus started selected the Septuagint. They existed, but they were not included as the Word of God. So now you know what makes those 7 books different from the Septuagint.

As I said before, you really don’t know where you got the bible. The Church decides, NOT the pharisees and scribes of the 1st century. The true Old Testament books were translated from Hebrew to Greek, while the apocryphal books were originally written in Greek (except the one that was in Latin), they had never been included as true Scripture before, and they were added in when they shouldn’t have been. So now that you know this, you can never again say the apocryphal books are just the same as all the other ones, and
Jesus is the reason for the OT. HE is the word of God they were proclaiming. HE is the one they looked forward to. And the Jews you follow missed the entire program when He came among them. They missed Him completely!!! The Jews I follow, Jesus and His apostles and ALL the ones who followed and were ordained by THEM, selected the Septuagint.

How does it feel to be following the pahrisees and scribes of the 1st century that killed Jesus? The ones who Jesus called blind guides, hypocrits and whitewashed tombs, serpents, brood of vipers, who won’t escape the sentence of hell? Jesus said to these fools (His term not mine) , behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city, so that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous )Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. They appear.clean on the outside but they are full of dead mens bones on the inside. You my friend are the ignorant one. These are the ones YOU follow. They don’t accept THOSE 7 books. This is your Protestant heritage. Now YOU know the facts. You can also never again say silly things like “You Protestants just ripped those books out because you didn’t like them.” You’ve failed miserably in your task of finding out what makes the 7 apocryphal books different from the true OT, and **you’ve shown yourself to be ignorant of the reasons for excluding them. Now you know the facts, **and your best bet is to deal with them instead of just continuing to ignore them.
Now let’s get back to the topic of the thread…Purgatory
