Jonathan Bernis, a “Christian Messianic Rabbi” of Jewish Voice.

Does Rabbi Bernis believe that Jesus Christ is God, the true Messiah? Bernis is becoming popular with some Protestants who fully believe his message that we must either support Israel financially and politically or lose God’s blessing.

Rabbi Bernis is a Protestant Jew imposing Judaism on Christianity as if that hasn’t been tried before.

Israel of today is an invention of Evangelical Brits and the United Nations. It has no marks of the Israel of the Bible. It is a secular state. Israel has a lot to do with dispensationalism and supporting Israel has to do with the Protestatnt/dispensationalist notion that they are going to convert Israel to bring Jesus back based on their twisted understanding of Prophesy.

I don’t send and never plan to send Israel a penny and I doubt that this will cause any hardships in blessings. Give to Caesar and Give to God. Give to your local Church. It will probably do more good.

Thanks, CopticChristian. I believe as you do, but what I am trying to determine is how Rabbi Bernis himself describes his own faith in Christ.

Is it the same faith as Catholics profess about the Second Person of the Trinity, or is it something else? Does he believe Christ’s teaching in the New Testament is the word of God, thus superseding some portions of the Talmud’s “old” Word of God, as it were (e.g., divorce)?

I can’t seem to find a description of what it is he says he believes or doesn’t believe about Christianity.

Just Imagine Protestant in every way with the same old Messianic Jew trend. There is a question of honesty with Rabbi Bernis.

His website has what he believes and it is salted with Jewishness however it is just Protestant with Jewish flavor. Also I know for a fact, having heard one of his people speak that although he professes the African/Ethiopian Jewish Community is a remnant of the diaspora they are in fact not, they are Jewish Converts.
