Next to the bible, Rock Music and TV make the greatest number of references to love. Of course, most of the love as expressed in Rock Music and TV is physical, and not the biblical forms of love. Nonetheless, I feel that Rock Music and TV has had a positive influence on love in the population in general.

The exact opposite is the case, especially today.

There may be some love there, but there’s a lot of lust, sentimentality, and selfishness to boot. It probably would be more accurate to say that the arts (music, literature, fine art, plastic art, etc.) promote love.

It depends, to generalize two things is to ignore the details of each.

Pop culture has an entirely different idea of love than Catholicism.

Pop culture believes that love is a feeling of attraction, the warm-fuzzy feeling, if you will. We know that love is a willed behavior of self-sacrifice. The difference is huge.

… sometimes

… Is “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother” Rock Music?

… and EWTN is on TV (cable TV)

then too …Tabycat may have the more generally correct idea. 😦 And edwest.

most posts here are good and worth a re-read. They are short and to the point too. 🙂
