Or our thoughts when we say them out loud? I just sometimes talk to God about how I’m feeling and my frustrations and fears and I sometimes worry that Satan hears and interferes.

It’s unclear how much Satan knows our thoughts.
It’s generally understood that the devil can hear our words and see our actions (and presumably can read).
But you don’t need to be afraid that praying to God out loud will draw the attention of Satan,
God wants us to be in relationship with Him, and He will give us the graces we need to get through our day.

He’s probably able to figure out what just happened to him any time we say a binding prayer in the name of Jesus that sends him to the foot of the cross to receive his judgement.

If Satan hears our prayers, he must be freaking out a lot during them every time he hears the names of Jesus, Mary, St. Michael, etc.

I do think Satan sometimes tries to mess with me when I’m planning to go to church or have been praying a lot, etc. He will try to throw things in my path to make me late, keep me from going, annoy me etc.

Nothing happens on earth without God’s permission.

God permits the angels and saints to hear our prayers.

Saint Thomas Aquinas wrote: when we pray, we are invisible to evil spirits, and they cannot hear us nor see us.

I read a powerful bible prayer to say if you think there is spiritual warfare coming against you: ‘No weapon formed against me shall prosper, I say this in Jesus Name.’

I heard a catholic charismatic say:
‘Pray against the demons of opposition.’
(When someone is doing the will of God, satan will try to oppose it, pray that he will be forbidden to oppose God’s will in your life.)
The Our Father includes such: ‘Deliver us from evil.’

In her memoir “Story of a Soul,” St. Thérèse of Lisieux describes a dream she had at age 3 or 4. She explains demons fear a child!

I remember a dream I had at that age, which left a very deep impression: I was walking alone in the garden when suddenly I saw two horrible little devils near the arbor, dancing on a barrel of lime with amazing agility, in spite of having heavy irons on their feet. They looked at me with flaming eyes, then, as if overcome by fear, threw themselves in the twinkling of an eye to the bottom of the barrel. They escaped in some mysterious way and ran off to hide in the linen room, which opens onto the garden. When I saw how cowardly they were, I put my fears aside and went over to the window to see what they were up to. There the little wretches were, running round and round the table, and not knowing how to escape my gaze. From time to time they came nearer, still very agitated, to peep through the window; then, when they saw I was still there, they began racing about again in abject misery.

Keep your eyes on Jesus, who defeated evil. Ask for His protection. Prayer for shelter in His Sacred Heart. And remember the words of St. Thérèse.

I just asked my mother-in-law and no, she doesn’t hear our prayers.😁

But if Satan can hear the thoughts and see the actions of anyone / everyone at any time the world over, doesnt that in effect give him the attributes of omnipresence and omniscience that, I thought, belonged to God alone? To me this seems to make Satan essentially the “dark god,” instead of a created being.

It is my non-professional understanding that, no, he has no access to our thoughts under normal circumstances.

But if Satan can hear the thoughts
Like I said, it’s unclear if Satan can read thoughts, or can read every thought.

We humans can read each other’s thoughts at times—people who are close often finish each other’s sentences, or they just seem in sync with each other and “get” what the other person is driving at even without words.
It’s not a perfect thing, and people can keep secrets from each other, but if human beings have some limited ability to read each other’s thoughts, it’s not unreasonable to assume that angelic creatures can do it and even better.

That being said, please always remember that for whatever powers or abilities bad angels have, God is still bigger. So we don’t need to be unduly afraid of Satanic power.

I have heard that some saints were horrified at evil and it makes sense that some evil is horrified or sickened by good, but I don’t imagine angels are so sensitive.

It may be that like attracts like up to a point. A person who is oriented towards God would likely attract good and evil would find that person singularly unattractive. By prayer, charitable thought and deed, reading the scriptures and participating in the sacraments I’m sure we make ourselves wholly distasteful to the wicked one and his cronies.

What doesn’t kill us serves to make us stronger, all things serve God wilfully or not I believe.

I believe he cannot intercept tweets that are encypted with charity and humility. These are algorithms hes never been able to figure out or decode from day1.
