In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful
agree unless the Quran understands the title in a physical way, which becomes its author’s problem.
who is Allah? if he is the Father in Christian terminology, then surely we refute it as well that the Father is Jesus.
If Allah is God in Christian terminology, then we refute it as well because God is not Jesus. God is Father, Jesus (Word), Holy Spirit.
In both cases, the Quran is refuting a strawman because it is not adressing the correct doctrine.
Surely, whoso associates partners with Allah, him has Allah forbidden Heaven, and the Fire will be his resort. And the wrongdoers shall have no helpers.** **
the divinity of Jesus has nothing to do with the partner idea…it’s a too basic and erroneous refutation of a human being, not an all-knowing God. The Word of God is not partner to God, it is not another God.
God is not the author of misunderstood doctrines, a not very knowlegeable human is.
[5:74] They surely disbelieve who say, ‘Allah is the third of three;’ there is no god but the One God.
again, if Allah means the Father, then we do believe the Father is One God and hence the argument “there is no god but the One God” becomes meaningless. Besides, the correct teaching is that the Father is the first, from Whom proceed the Word and Spirit. To put the Father in “any number within the 3 as if it does not matter theologically” reflects a huge distortion of the doctrine and reflects a careless representation of a human.
If however, Allah means God, then we do not believe that God is third of 3 gods.
In both cases, a human faulty reasoning and a lack of theological knowleges are the sources of such arguments and refutations.
[5:76] The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; surely Messengers like unto him had passed away before him. And his mother was a truthful woman.
They both used to eat food. they both ate food

if this does not smell of human reasoning to its roots, well… Will an all-knowing deity refute the divinity of someone by saying he used to eat food? what kind of deep argument is this from an all-knowing deity who must know that Christians already know this ansd that Christians believe Jesus is a man as well? or does Allah think that Christians are unaware of it and by saying that Jesus used to eat food, then surely we’ll stop believing in His divinity? and what does Mary have to do with anything is beyond me.
[5:77] Say, 'Will you worship beside Allah that which has no power to do you harm or good? And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Trinity is worshipping the One God (Father), the All-knowing (Wisdom/Logos), the All-Powerful (Holy Spirit).
To say that God does not know this is beyong imagination and to even say that God calls His Wisdom and Holy Spirit as partners to him with no power to do harm or good? dunno but i’d say God knows better that attributing to Him faulty teachings.
So, there is no question of any leader saying it, it is all clear from Quran/Islam/Muhammad. Quran leaves no doubt and is reasonable in this connection.
one thing is clear in the Quran : the author did not know what he was talking about, aka Muhammad…am sorry, but we all must know by now that an all-knowing God can do much better than misrepretenting teachings and attacking strawmen.
