Does the bible/church say the devil will deceive the world into believing God doesn't exist?

I ask this because there are so many new scientific theories coming out trying to debunk the faith and it disturbs me. Is this all apart of the devils plan to make a lie look like a truth in order for us to lose our faith?

The devil has been trying to convince man that either God doesn’t exist or that he doesn’t matter since Adam and Eve when he asked Eve: “Did God say…?”

Our Lord stated: “Will there be any faith when the Son of Man returns?” And: “If they do these things in the case of the green wood, what will they do in the case of the dry?” This last refers to the world at the time having faith in divinity, of one sort or another–the green wood, and the dry wood refers to a coming age in which there would be a lack of faith.

We cannot know if this age in which faith is not only lacking but being replaced by secularization will be the final age of man in which Christ will return, but unless there is a turn around, the old deception of the devil will win a good deal of the world away from God. We have to look to our own failings in that, not just the deceptions of the devil. If we Christians had been true to Christ’s teachings, instead following the world, the flesh and the devil in their deceptions, we wouldn’t be experiencing a falling away from faith we are seeing today.

The New Testament is FULL of verses about how sinners will be deceived by Satan and their sins. Here is just one, with Jesus talking to some Pharisees:

John 8:44: “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

If you search the New Testament with search terms such as “lie” “liar” “deceive” “deceiver” “deception” “falsehoods” and so on, you’ll find the verses.

Psalm 14 says: “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile…”

But apparently the Evil One’s main plan is to convince people of false, New Age type religion, not atheism. The Book of Revelation says, I believe, that in the end times the Antichrist will be very religious, just not Catholic, and probably not Christian at all. Lots of people say that he will be the leader of an Interfaith Religion.

Regarding all the propaganda out there saying that the Catholic Church is wrong, and that there is no God at all, you could do well to read some of the short books of Dr. Peter Kreeft. He’s a Catholic professor at Boston College. He is an honest, decent, easy-to-understand writer. He shows that all these critics of religion don’t have the good argument and evidence that they claim to have.

Anyway, that’s what I know.

Humbly offered for the Glory of God and the Salvation of Souls.

Yours, Barto

…Scriptures demonstrate that Satan acknowledges God but that he does not submit to Him… so no, Satan does not attempt to negate God; man on the other hand… well man wants what he wants when he wants it and God is in the way… the fact remains that science does not negate God but there are scientists and other “thinkers” that would rather believe in *order being created out of chaos *and the fallacy of life emerging out of pure myriads of chances times myriads of just so conditions (I call it the goldilocks syndrome) times blind nature times more chances and just so conditions… calling God a myth and theory fact seems to help them get through the day!

Ben, do not let them worry you… over a decade ago some of these thinkers were claiming that nothing could exist in the depths of the oceans since light could not reach them; tech (science) proved them wrong… some were also scaring people with the old universe claim–where the universe was so old it was folding up upon itself, blah, blah, blah–again, tech (the Hobble) proved them wrong; just a few years ago they spent 10 billion dollars to create a super collider to demonstrate that life “emerged” not that God Created it… more millions later they have proven that subatomical particals cannot be broken down past the prime nine or twelve sub-subatomical particles… yep, science is still batting 1000 (check out the complex uniqueness of the snowflake’s geometrical design); man 0 for 1000 to the x power (unless guesses count as fact)! 🍿

Here is my end times view based upon guidance from the Church Fathers and Medieval expositors. Right now the Devil has done a lot to cause confusion and disbelief about Christianity, as we see so many people break away from the Catholic Church and form their own doctrines and so on. There are also other religions that are not even related to Christianity, as well as atheism and other forms of non-christianity. In the times of the Antichrist, the Antichrist who will be like the Devil in the flesh, will temporarily unite with those who oppose the Church in order to persecute Her. Then once he has enough power and a large enough army that is devoted to him and worships him, he will then destroy everyone who does not worship him, that means he will eliminate atheists and other religions. He will set himself up in the Temple and proclaim he is God. Many will worship him because they think he is God or out of fear. Then he will wage an all out war against those who are left among the Church.
