Logic and the Heart
I can’t give you a definitive statement at this late hour and because I haven’t sorted it all out myself. Maybe others could give me a hand.
I mentioned logic because in my very limited experience with Muslims they seem to place an inordinate amount of weight to (human) logic. Christians do it too, not just as much. This is my own personal impression; I could be wrong.
God is love. There’s no logic in love. It just…is. It’s a emotion; a feeling. Faith isn’t logical, in my opinion. It’s not a science or math, where 2+2=4. It just is something that one senses in their deepest consciousness. It’s spiritual. Prove spirits to me.
Human logic is faulty. Benjamen posted on whyislam some typical mistakes in logic. A crude example would be: emad is a male. emad is a muslim. Therefore, all muslims are male.
The biggest flaw with logic is our own ego… mine’s better than yours. Therefore, your’s is wrong. I am unaware of the Bible addressing logic.
We also can’t confine God’s plan to what is “logical” in human terms. We cannot confine God in any way, shape or form. I mean, I used to ask, “where’s the “logic” in all the different religions?” As I’ve grown spiritually, I see a possible logic in it, but it’s God’s logic and I leave it to Him.
Sheesh. Here I am arguing how illogical logic is. I’m going to bed.
