Does the catechism teach that we become gods after our death?

Hiyas:)

Yes but Eve was hmmmmm kinda lacking - in common sense IMO:)

She was just thinking about the good stuff - ignoring the other side.

I wouldn’t want to be President - but I’d sure like to have his ear 😃
Actually, I am not sure if Eve REALLY NEW the other side…
God simply said: “From the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” (Gen 2:17) - He didn’t tell them WHY they had to dye. - Neither did the serpent explain why, in her opinion, they wouldn’t dye. 😉

Actually, I’d like to be a God. 😉 - Especially considering the named computer games! 😉 😃

“Are you God?”

The Church does not tempt us with this question. She has always taught that there is One God, and Jesus Christ is the Way to everlasting life. We are adopted sons and daughters of Light. We are not the Light itself.

To put a focus on becoming gods, without taking into account the entirety of truth, is striking the fires of heresy. As, that is what heresy usually is, a focus on one thing to the detriment of everything else. When all else submits to one idea, you know you have reached the end, and are utterly lost.

This was the temptation in the garden.

Peace.

Yes, I know that there is only one God.

But if I had the possibility (which I haven’t of course) I would like to be a God! 😉
You see during my searching time for a belief that suits me, I also came across the Greek Gods - and they seem, according to Mythology, to have a pretty good time! 😃

Maybe it is a sign of growing old…ha! I would prefer to sit at the feet of God, and praise His Holy Name.

Yeah, maybe! 😛 😉

'Though I still think being a God is tempting (for me). 😃

But I guess praising the Lord as a “second choice”'s is also not bad. 😉 😛 😃

I tend to agree with Esdra…that Eve didn’t quite know what to think but was being seduced by the Serpent…

Adam and Eve both knew that the fruit was forbidden…God would never withhold wisdom.

Eve was tempted in being like the gods…so she was also introduced to the idea that there were other gods out there…that perhaps the One Who told her the fruit was forbidden was giving His opinion…

Christ showed us the way to be godly…to deny our very selves and lay down our life for Him, that we were to learn to live off of His power of charity and service and not our own. The saints all say they had to learn to in time live off of God’s strength and not their own to continue to live in the life of Christ, especially those were difficult or in hard times.

Catholicism constantly warns us not to judge. In this life, all we can judge are fruits…whether they are good fruits of the Spirit, of the flesh and passions, or the bad fruits of sin.
