I apologize if this has been asked and answered, but I did search the forums and can’t find what I am looking for.

yes … because they believe what happened to Jesus can happen to any of us (assending to be a god)

It may not be a cult but, more importantly, I think it is not considered as a Church, properly defined.

Thanks for the answers.

Is it true that the Catholic Church considers a Mormon baptism invalid, and that the Mormon Church considers a Catholic Baptism invalid?

Because it seems to me that that would pretty much answer the question.

I am not an expert on this subject…But for a baptism to be considered valid by the Catholic Church it must be done in the name of the “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” in the nature of the trinity.

If mormon baptism is considered invalid, it is because they don’t acknowledge the trinitarian nature of God…their belief would be polytheistic.

Catholic Church doesn’t consider a Mormon baptism valid. If a Mormon converts to Catholicism, they must get re-baptized.

No idea if Mormons consider Catholic baptism valid.

The Mormon religion is considered a non-Christian religion by the Catholic Church. Mormons reject the Trinity.

The Catholic Church has ruled that Mormon baptism is not valid because it is not Trinitarian.

The Mormon religion does not accept any religion or denomination’s baptisms. Anyone converting to the Mormon religion undergoes Mormon baptism.
