Does the Catholic Church Exist to Serve Man?

Does the Catholic Church exist to serve man or does man exist to serve the Catholic Church?

If man exist to serve the Catholic Church, are nations to be ruled by a conference of Catholic bishops?

Why do nations have laws if the Catholic Church works to overrule them?

Whose in charge on Earth?

Who decides soverignty of nations?

Is it the will of the people or the hierachy of a church?

Why does the United States proudly proclaim separation of church and state then allow churches to assemble to overrule the will of the people and the soverignty of the United States?

Is the Catholic Church the best judge of who will rule the United States?

Obviously you know nothing about the Catholic Church.
Before making wild accusations why don’t you actually do some real research?

Ask a question any Catholic should be able to answer and watch the evasions!

I call it machine gunning.

There’s 8 questions. Pick one.
Fine. I’ll go with the first one: Does the Catholic Church exist to serve man or does man exist to serve the Catholic Church?

Short answer: yes.

Slightly longer answer: yes, the Church exists to serve man. It is the ordinary means which God instituted to make the salvation of man possible. Also, one of the duties of the Church is the commission of various corporal and spiritual works of mercy which are various services rendered to those in need.

And yes, man exists to serve the Church. Man’s purpose is to know, love and serve God in this world in order that he may share eternal happiness with God in Heaven. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ, therefore by serving the Church, man fulfills his duty to serve Christ, who is God. Also, the means by which the Church carries out her works of mercy noted above is by the services of man.

Does the Catholic Church exist to serve man or does man exist to serve the Catholic Church?
The Catholic Church serves God, and some men and women are needed to serve the Church.
If man exist to serve the Catholic Church, are nations to be ruled by a conference of Catholic bishops?
N/A See the above.
Why do nations have laws if the Catholic Church works to overrule them?
The Church works for justice. She cannot “overrule” nations.
Whose in charge on Earth?
Whose or who’s?
Who decides soverignty of nations?
Which?
Is it the will of the people or the hierachy of a church?
I don’t understand the question.
Why does the United States proudly proclaim separation of church and state then allow churches to assemble to overrule the will of the people and the soverignty of the United States?
Could you give a specific example to clarify the question?
Is the Catholic Church the best judge of who will rule the United States?
This is an “Are you still beating your wife” question. Please clarify.

I’m sorry… did anyone else here immediately think, “Mr. Chambers! Don’t get on that ship! The rest of the book… To Serve Man… It’s a cookbook!”

…or am I just showing my age?

Yes, that’s the first thing I thought of too. 😃

Okay, time to be serious again.

The Catholic Church serves both God and man.

The Catholic Church was never intended by God to be a ruler of nations therefore they should not interfere with laws made to rule people and countries.

Correct and the Catholic Church should not conspire against nations either.

Man

The will of a just people should rule nations

The Church is always putting its “moral authority” in the heads of Catholics to do the will of the bishops.

The will of a just people should detemine who will rule the United States. Clarify your answer if you can.

If you are looking for a discussion about the legitimacy of the Catholic Church, wouldn’t the Apologetics forum be a better choice, rather than Social Justice?

It is hard to have a discussion with people who say: “I’ve made up my mind, don’t confuse me with the facts!”

I have one better:

In the movie “The Gauntlet” Gus Malley, an loud mouthed female prostitute played by Sondra Locke is attempting to convince Ben Shockley, played by Clint Eastwood, a bewildered police detective trying to bring her back to Phoenix, that people in his own department are trying to kill both of them. He keep receiving intructions from the very Police Commisioner who keeps setting both of them up to be killed, but Shockley dutifully follows orders. He refuses to even think that he is being used as a patsy.

At one point he proudly proclaims to Malley to show what a good policeman he is :

“I follow my orders!”

She replies: “Yeah? Well so does an idiot!”

The Church exists to serve man.
Why do nations have laws if the Catholic Church works to overrule them?
MLK Jr. sought to overrule the laws of segregation. Overruling laws is not inherently evil.
Why does the United States proudly proclaim separation of church and state then allow churches to assemble to overrule the will of the people and the soverignty of the United States?
Separation of church and state refers to the separation of church institutions from state institutions. It does not refer to preventing churches from persuading Americans to particular points of view.
Is the Catholic Church the best judge of who will rule the United States?
No, but members of the Church can certainly vote for whom they will.

He worked for equality. That all men be judged by what they do, not by their race. Today, the American Catholic Church is putting the wishes of an immigrant community ahead of those of the American people of many races. It is supporting a Hispanic America and ignoring the rest. How is that equality?

Yes it does. If you were near a Church during elections you would have seen that electioners must remain at a distance from churches.

How is that particular point of view approached. If you go against the bishops will, you are committing a sin. How is that free will? The illegal aliens is committing sins throughout their stay in the US just by taking things only Americans should have access to. Why does the Catholic Church ignore this. When did they get the power to remove the responsibility to follow the 10 commandments from certain people or racial groups?

But can they vote to keep their contributions to the Church out of the hands of those who seek to destroy the American law and the American way of life?

And who exactly are these persons?

There are so many false statement in this post, it is ridiculous.

Bullfighter/JBuford, take your hate and lies elsewhere. The points you and your point of view are utterly invalid because they are based on lies. Since you have to lie to make your point, your point is invalid.

Furthermore, you are in serious violation of several forum rules. Take your racism and uninformed anti-Catholic bigotry elsewhere.

Is the American Catholic Church being run by Latin America?

The rallies yesterday proves that it is!

Their will come a day when your Mass missals will be printed in “Spanish Only”!
