Does the Church allow marriage with a divorced non-Catholic?

Father clarified that marriage between non catholics is recognized by the Church. In such case if they divorce as per civil laws,can a Catholic marry the woman who was divorced. Can she remain non catholic,willing to bring up children in catholic faith ?

Dear friend,

This is the point. The Catholic Church recognizes the validity of marriages between non-Catholics. The state does not have the power to dissolve a valid marriage whether it is between Catholics or non-Catholics, according to the Catholic Church’s view. So, no; a Catholic cannot validly marry a non-Catholic who is divorced unless the non-Catholic’s marriage can be annulled. Only if the marriage can be annulled, may the Catholic marry the non-Catholic.
