Does the Church allow this for Prostatitis?

I have a very painful conditon prostatitis. I am a single 57 year old male Catholic.
The Doctor told me to ejaculate by masturbation to get rid of infection in my
prostrate. I told him this was against my faith- a mortal sin, He, a Catholic
said it wasn’t because you were doing it not for pleasure , but for medical reasons.
Is this acceptable to do?
