Sure, it does. Why wouldn’t it count? Not only that, but when Jesus flat-out said “You must eat my flesh and drink my blood to have everlasting life”, a bunch of people just up and left him.Really? They seemed to live up to the image they created. Have you read of any case where they said or did something that was used against them? (No, false accusations and political conspiracies to get them executed do not count.)
Please, people, stop saying the same for the Church.
He didn’t worry about running back to them, changing what he said in order to make them feel more comfortable. Jesus didn’t give a hoot about PR.
His Church doesn’t exist to make a good name for itself. The Truth that is self-evident and contained with the Church is what attracts followers, not good feelings and walking on eggshells.
