Does the Devil have a right to a private Confession?

Hello, this may sound like a ludicrous question, but it is a genuine curiosity of mine based upon one of Padre Pio’s experiences (scroll down to the confessional bit).

For those who don’t want to read a few paragraphs; One day the Devil went to a confessional to agitate Padre Pio again, and even confessed his heinous sins (though obviously insincerely), however, what I find most curious is that Padre Pio never once states a single offense commit by him. Neither the most venial nor gravest sins are ever so much as stated, all we know of this mysterious event was that his sins were unfathomably evil.

With that said, do Demons actually have a right to a Private Confession? Are Priests bound even to protect their confessions too? It honestly makes me wonder if they could be absolved too (which I, personally doubt). Thank You.

I’m no expert on this, but since demons are spiritual beings and are already in Hell, they cannot be forgiven. They’ve made their decision.

I don’t think the question is about forgiveness but about the seal applying to demons.

I doubt that “respecting the seal of the confessional” was Padre Pio’s reason for never telling what sins the Devil confessed.

Would you want to hear the litany of the sins of the evil one? Would you want to inflict that experience on somebody else?

Only humans could possibly receive the sacrament of confession and absolution, if that is what you mean by Private Confession.

There is no Sacrament of Reconciliation for those in Hell. They cannot be forgiven and absolved. They are in Hell forever.
Confession is only for humans and only for those living.

It’s about the Evil one tormenting a holy confessor.
I seriously doubt he was there to repent, He was there to agitate, torment, and to see if he could destroy this holy priest and now, Saint.

St Padre Pio’s private revelations are just that, HIS private revelations.

Satan went into that confessional for one reason and that was to torment and torture Padre Pio as he did many nights when Padre was in his room. He did not confess, he made a mockery out of the Sacrament and Padre Pio with the help of God was strong enough to bear the evil one’s presence as well as the horrific things that came spilling out of his mouth, Remember he and the others were angels who turned against God… Padre Pio hade to endure alot from the evil one but this Holy Man did, he never betrayed his calling nor, his being chosen by God to bear the Stigmata. He fought the devil and each time [ no matter what the cost to his body ] won.As someone posted Padre did not reveal what the devil said to him for he was protecting us . God Bless us all.
