Does the east have an analog to the KofC?

Just kind of wondering if there are any analgous fraternal orders on the Eastern (Byzantine specifically) side of Catholicism.

I’m not aware of one, but that doesn’t mean one doesn’t exist. I do know that Eastern Catholics are more than welcome in the KofC.

You might want to look into the GCU (Greek Catholic Union) gcuusa.com/, but given how sparse Eastern Catholics are on the ground (with a few notable exceptions), you might just be better off looking into the KofC.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help 😦 .

I think this is probably what I will do. There is a Ruthenian at my church who is KofC and I really get the feeling they would love to have the overlap/cultural addition. They are some of the kindest men I have ever met. The official KofC website has a special page/section for the east, so I will start there. Making my confession in 2 weeks! Then all this will be official.

Excellent!! As we say in the east, "Mazal tov!" :D:D:thumbsup:👍

Indeed, there is an analogous order. It is called the Knights of Columbus. (It is a *very *close analogy) 😃 😃

Welcome, welcome, welcome. :tiphat:

There are some councils of the KofC that are entirely Eastern - A few Chaldean, a few Ukrainian - that I’ve seen mentioned in Columbia (the KofC Magazine).

I’m a 4th degree knight, myself, but my council and assembly have no other easterns. The problem is that the council I’m a member of is a single parish council.

Ach! No matter how many times I see that acronym, I ALWAYS think KofC refers to Kentucky’s Fried Chicken. And I always have to look into the thread to satisfy my curiosity, “why the heck is someone asking about Kentucky’s Fried Chicken in this or any other Forum in CAF?”🤷

I am a member of the Knights Council at my Ruthenian parish - again, as others have mentioned, there is the Greek Catholic Union, but I know hardly anything about it.
