I dont beleave in compromizing the truth 4 NE1 but then I have been told I am coldhearted, brash, insensitive. Things do not bother me. I have high self-esteem. I do not y people think it is rude 2 tell be exactly how you feel about them. I am upfront & honest. Most people are probably thinking the same thing 2, but R scared. Y R sum peeple so sensitive? They cannot take it when some1 tells them the straight-up truth. Fix your problems & your issues. I have been called the b-word and a nag because I persistent in telling folks what they need 2 hear. I know I can B rough. Should I stop saying something because it offends u? I will shut up once I C U changed. I know I can B critical but I have good intentions. I care enough 2 say something.

So how is your approach working out in terms of long-lasting and meaningful relationships and friendships?

Okay, in that case, I care enough to tell you that on a forum you need to spell your words out, not use text short-hand. There are people who will simply tune out and stop trying to read your post if you won’t use proper English. 😉

As to your point- no one likes being judged. You seem to expect someone to respond with humility and gratitude at your criticism of them, but that’s rare. For one, since we’re all sinners, many people are going to want to know why you feel it’s okay to judge them when you have faults of your own that you should be working on. Whatever you say should be tempered with Christian charity (try to think the best of them, not the worst). Lead by example, not by criticism. Read, re-read and then read again the Gospels and follow our Lord’s example. Try to take their feedback on your communication style to heart because your method doesn’t appear to be effective in creating a change of heart or mind.

Some people are just sensitive. I think that even people who are not sensitive in the slightest would chafe when being around you because there is not a shred of humility or love in your post. Instead of giving yourself points for honesty, challenge yourself to love these people as Christ loved them.

No, the end does not justify the means.

I guess the best way to gauge your approach is to ask: how is all that criticism working? Are you actually helping people? Are lots of those people making the changes that you suggest? Do they seem to eventually appreciate your advice, or do they just avoid you or criticize you in return?

And by focusing on the faults of others, are you avoiding the things you need to change within yourself?

Jesus is God and is perfect Truth…and even He treated people with more respect while on earth. Should God have followed your example, or should you instead follow His?

Ummm…what was that Biblical story about taking the beam out of your own eye before helping take the splinter out of your brother’s…?

The end NEVER justifies the means. That is a Church teaching.

Perhaps you have not been caught in what feels like a tornado.
I heard someone make this comparison one day and I thought it was a good way of seeing things.

When you are caught inside a tornado in your life (things spinning, cant see the true way to go, don’t know what to do, etc) sometimes it is simply hard to see out. Someone may say to you–why can’t you see this, it is so obvious to me? You are not smarter or better than that person. It is obvious because you’re not in the tornado.

We all get caught in those tornados throughout our life.
Instead of screaming–why can’t you see this—why not try to offer a kind hand to help. Its the same hand–just instead of reaching out with harmful words, reach out with kind words.

Can you imagine if Jesus had just thrown up his hands and said–ok, yall are all just too stupid to get it–and walked off?

Hmmm… I suppose my question is why you are feeling the need to tell others how they need to change? A doctor telling someone they need to lose weight versus a stranger, friend, co-worker telling someone this… Big difference. I don’t know if your situation is work, family or friend related.

Take a deep breath. Take a step back. It is hard to see things clearly when you are in the mix of it.
