Does the existence of Purgatory mean that Jesus's sacrifice is insufficient?

We all know that Jesus died for our sins, but since some people need Purgatory, does that mean that His sacrifice isn’t enough to forgive all of our sins?
Also, 1 John 1:9 seems to suggest that Christ completely absolves of our sins.

"If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." NRSV-CE
