Unfortunately the problem I’ve seen is more likely that one member of the family is seriously abusive, but is more trusted by other family members than the victim. This isn’t uncommon, especially when the abuser is a parent or another member of the older generation. Other family members end up seeing the victim’s attempts to protect themselves as an unfortunate spat to be patched up and will apply pressure to mend the relationship. Or the abuser goes to the extended family with a smear story about the victim and it’s accepted.I was assuming that the people you want the information about aren’t abusive.
