Does the Holy Father Require Communion From Him on the Knees?

When did that curve occur? Every thing I have seen, both statistics and personal experience, shows a continued decline every year, I haven’t seen a reversal or an uptrend. In fact, the only place I see up trends in things like mass attendance, conffesion, priestly vocations, etc, are in traditional communities like the FSSP and Institute of Christ the King. And that is a tiny minority.

You bring up an important point that I should have mentioned in my post and that is distinguishing between Sunday/Holy Day mass and daily mass. I rarely see any of the disappointing things I mentioned at N.O. daily masses, only at Sunday masses. But then again that half dozen people who show up to the daily mass are probably that minority I see trying to pray at the end of Sunday masses.

I’m just tired, man. I’m tired of being in denial of all of this. Tired of pretending we’re in a “new springtime”. Anyway, my apologies for coming off as uncharitable.

I agree with you. In many parishes, silence is not the norm. I always picture those who deny this those who have never experiencing that type of situation or putting their heads in the sand lol.

I suppose they could just be extremely, extremely, extremely (ad infinitum) fortunate 😛

Growing? Where? Not in the west. This may by true in Asia, South America, and Africa. Our Church will become smaller in the west. Politicians as pressings pressure points on the Church, this will cause those who are weak in faith too simply leave, and those faithful to the Church will stay and be a minority, this is in my opinion the eye of the storm, the worst is yet to come. I now see why blessed JP 2 did what he did during his pontificate reign, that was to prepare us, by spreading the Gospel and appointing Bishops who would show their true colors when the moment came.

I hope you are wrong and we are not in the eye of the storm but with all going on around I have a feeling something is brewing. I am hoping that it is the end of winter, if it is not springtime. I know there will be storms but I think those storms will make us stronger, even if we do become a minority and I agree that may happen. Also, as a new generation of priests come up that aren’t interested in the “spirit of Vatican II” hopefully we will see more changes. Our parish is already starting to make changes, as is my son’s Catholic high school.

I agree when you said weekday masses are not as crazy as Sundays.
