Does the Real Presence remain if a dog consumes the host?

If a consecrated host drops to the ground and a dog eats it, is it still the body of Christ?

Also, if an atheist goes up for communion and consumes a host is he eating the body of Christ?

I ask because there is a debate within my parish. Some say the dog and the atheist eat the body of Christ but do not receive it. Others say it is not the body of Christ when they eat it.

Can you clarify this issue please?
 
Hi,

While I wouldn’t call your fellow parishioners heretics, to say that the presence of Christ in the Eucharist is dependent on the faith of the recipient is heresy.

If a dog or an atheist consumes the Eucharist, the presence of Christ remains within them (as with everyone who receives the Eucharist) until the physical appearance of the host dissolves in their respective stomachs.
