Does the state of Israel have eschatological significance?

Yes I do. The Jews returning to Israel is described as a sign in the Apocalypse.
I am not claiming that Christ will come back as an Israeli citizen as well as I am also not claiming that the Anti-Christ will enter the 3rd (or 4th?) Temple. Some rabbis claim the 4th Temple should be the new one and not the 3rd for the same reasons many conspiracy theorists fear the 3rd Temple - it might end up being dedicated to Ba’al. Ba’al also means Lord in Hebrew, doesn’t it? Ba’al was also a false prophet who presented a very cruel rite, unwanted by God. So there’s the confusion that scares many.
Anyway I do wish the Jewish people to rebuild their Temple because it’s not fair that they can’t have it because some people dream one thing or another.
Also the coming back of Christ may be scary but it will happen and there is nothing we can do delay it or control.
I also don’t believe Christ will come back in Rome or Constantinople or any other major important Christian site, because the Synods said Chiliasm is heresy (and I do believe Christ presides Synods in an unseen way and bishops cannot do there all that they want according to their own minds). He also won’t be interested in our international organizations, banking systems and everything else we built. He will simply come back to judge us. And we need it. 🙂 And we should be more scared of it watching the signs that He brings to us and stop being so comfortable in our lives and act as if we are already in Heaven because we are not.
