Am I gossiping if my sister starts talking about her daily work issues with co workers and instead of listening I try to ignore her and attempt to change the topic quickly as possible?

I don’t think so. Why would you think that’s gossip? It might be lack of charity, or impatience, but not gossip.

Because if not, you are just choosing not to listen to her. You aren’t talking about anyone behind their backs - or are you as you change the subject?
