Does this mean I can't receive?

I will be confirmed this Easter. I was told that I am not permitted to go to confession until after confirmation. However, I am in a state of mortal sin (I have checked various sources to make sure). I know I cannot receive the Eucharist because of that. Does this mean I cannot receive the Eucharist on the Sunday I am confirmed or it it different because I am not confirmed yet?
