Does this seem biblical to you or New Age?

I came across this ostensibly Catholic monastery link a few minutes ago but it smacks of New Age stuff, which is hardly biblical. Can some of you take a look at it and give me your impressions? I have no stake in this as I am not contemplating a visit or retreat there. Just curious is all. I am always interested in whether a particular denomination organization that bills itself as Christian, really is,according to the Bible. Thanks in advance. As I said, not a big deal, just want to know what you folks think, and why. It seems that when we take our focus off of Jesus Christ and God’s Word in the Bible, we then focus on the universe and material things and it sounds good, but is it good? Or is it in accordance with Scripture? Nothing wrong with contemplating the heavens and seeings God’s work there. I am talking about when people go beyond that.

This monastery is obviously truly progressive and therefore right thinking 👍 \

You will note that God, Christ the Holy Spirt and the Blessed Mother are not mentioned of being of any concern to this community at all as evidenced by their mission or recruiting statement as it were:

Our invitation goes out to those who are serious about the quest for **inner liberation and the transformation of consciousness **within the Christian context and who are able to commit themselves to this quest.

It seems pretty obvious that this community has evolved beyongd the traditional and therefore wrong view of Christianity and stands at the forefront of modern and therefore correct theological thought:thumbsup:

I think we should all take a trip to this holy site and see exactly what inner liberation and transformation of consciousness means.

Uh oh. Have to go. My inner liberation and transformation of consciousness is acting up just thinking about the site! Got to get up there on retreat real soon. 🙂

how can you say they don’t have a place for Mary and Christian prayer? they sell the Earth Prayer Beads and Icon of Our Lady of the Cosmos. sheesh you guys are so close minded.

and please note that Sisters Gail and Bernadette wear habits!

However the photos show no pot growing so I can’t believe they are serious about transforming consciousness
 
I guess we are being a little close-minded. But why don’t the three of us or however many there are, why don’t we all make a little retreat up there and buy a few items and expand our consciousness? No better way to find out about it than by going there…or maybe you can tell us how it was when you get back…I do hate to miss a retreat there…I wonder if they have New Age stuff in the gift shop. Probably not. Doesn’t sound like that kind of a place 🙂

Good to hear that there may be another potential retreat person to join our little group that we just kind of formed here this afternoon. Scary thing to have this much time on our hands, isn’t it?
 
are we going to fly or rent a bus, no wait, I think my brother in law still has his VW microbus we can borrow for our trip
 
Well, there are about four of us so far, and when this news about the community in VT really hits home here on the message boards I doubt if ten busloads would be enough. But we must wait and see. But let’s transform and get conscious in the meantime, or whatever it is they said to do…I have to go back to the site. I WISH they had a message board.

Most excellent! Yet another person signed up for our little retreat trip.
 
When you folks see how many hundreds will sign up once they have seen that website, we will need a lot more than a few vehicles. Will probably have to have one big group go and then another one later on in the year. I envision big big retreat populations for this one.
 
I’ll bring a copy of the litany to the Four Corners of the Earth that we can say each morning instead of Vigils!

We’ll have to rent tents.
 
I guess that takes care of any potential retreat plans-----thanks for those links------what is really scary here is that they SAY they are Catholic. I could understand if they just did their thing but to say they are Catholic and to act like that, is really low. They must know on some basic level that they are NOT Catholic. There is no limit, absolutely no limit, to the foolishness that goes on in this world.
