Does your parish offer an adoration chapel? If so, what is it like (share pictures if available).

Also - what experiences have you had there?

Yes, our parish has a beautiful adoration chapel!

It is situated directly behind the main altar; they share the same supporting wall. In that same supporting wall is the tabernacle, which can be opened from either side (from the main sancutary or from the adoration chapel).

The tabernacle is truly in the heart of the church!

This is a newer, modern church built in 2004. Even though our priest and parish is somewhat liberal-leaning, at least he insisted on this point!

I hope everyone has an opportunity to have such a wonderful place to pray and worship!

We have a nice little chapel despite being in a non-traditional architecturally built church. I am heading there today, Ill take my camera.

Our small rural OF parish was built in 1838. It has burned to the ground three times since; last fire was in 1932. But NO we do not have an Adoration chapel.

Ours is about 15 x 30 situated in a room with a bathroom off of the vestibule and accessible to both the inside and the outside via key pad lock. It has been perpetual for the last twelve years.

Very simple like an office which has been converted for use with typical drop ceiling tiles, white walls, sixteen seats with kneelers, great big monstrance held up by four Cherubim, small wooden statue of Mary with Jesus and another of Joseph, small table with holy water and-sign in book. That’s about it.

One of my favorite places on the planet and usually very busy.

We have the Tabernacle in a chapel that is on the side of the main church and separated by a glass wall. It accommodates about 50 people.

We have 24-hour adoration Fri-Sat each week and 4-5 each month. The latter is part of a diocesan schedule that has adoration at each parish once a month; so there is adoration someplace in the diocese at all times.

This works well because there are frequently wedding rehearsals in the main church Friday evenings, and often various activities other days. Also, the group that says the rosary before weekday mass uses it if there is an early funeral.

Yes. Its called the Sanctuary. The Tabernacle is on what is called an Altar. Right smack dab in the center of the Altar.

LOL! Exactly where it should be. Same at my parish.

God Bless

My parish has a baby room (where parishioners go with fussy children during mass). It is “converted” to an adoration chapel on Fridays from 7am to 10pm. A table is placed with candles and a monstrous (spelling) is placed on the table. The room is small… Only about 6 chairs, but it makes it feel as if I am closer. I dint mind the smallness of the room at all. I wish we had a perpetual chapel though.

Yes, my parish has an Adoration chapel. It’s good sized room located just off the main church, accessible to the outside and back to the church. There are about 10 or 11chairs in a semi-circle around the altar, each with their own kneelers. There is a long pew in the back. The walls and niches are adorned with religious art: two icons (one of Christ the Teacher, the Mother of Compassion), the Divine Mercy image, pictures of John Paul II and Pope Benedict, and statues of the Sacred Heart and Mary. The altar has the inscription Altare Christus Est. I love being there!

No separate chapel for adoration at my church and we only have adoration the first Monday of each month. I wish it was available more often, but I go when we have it. It’s in the church itself. I love the feeling of peace and centered-ness I get from going. When I do get to go it’s always after working all day, which makes it a great way to finish the day. One other thing I get from going to adoration is a feeling of on on one with Jesus. I come from a large family (8 kids) and that was always something we wanted from our parents as we were growing up. As much as I love going to mass, I love adoration just as much. My focus is entirely different than at mass.

No, we don’t but I wish we did. We do have Adoration one day a week in our church, though. Fortunatly, there are a couple other Catholic churches nearby that do have Adoration chapels and I can go by there when I want to.

We have a Perpetual Adoration Chapel and have had one for about 14-15 years. It’s in our “education building” which is a small old house next to the rectory (which is next to the Church). The Chapel is what used to be the living room of the house, and there’s a mechanical number-code lock on the door for the adorers.

Despite being a small old living room, it’s decorated nicely with mid-size Joseph and Mary statues, some icons and photos and other religious pictures on the walls. The Altar that the monstrance is on is a simple rectangular white-marble-looking table, with four (real) candles on it, and two small ceramic kneeling angels. The monstrance is on a Tabor, a monstrance stand, that’s in the shape of two metal kneeling angels holding a platform for the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament. It’s beautiful. The monstrance is a traditional sunburst. Surrounding the altar are 5 Prie-dieus (kneelers) and a Bible stand with a large Bible on it.

Also in the chapel are lots of devotional books, lives of the saints, missalettes, brevaries, a prayer request board, and of course the sign-in book, and several comfy chairs.

Our chapel was the first Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Kentucky. Our Church is also traditional, with a high altar with tabernacle on it.

The Blessed Sacrament is always available for private prayer in the Parish Center Oratory. The only issue I have is that there are no seats available, only kneelers, and I have issues with my knees. I can kneel for maybe 10min but after that I am in alot of pain and I start to feel light headed and my ears begin to ring, so I really wish they offered just a couple chairs. I don’t think many people take advantage of the Oratory.

1st saturday of the month we have Adoration in the main Chapel from 9am - 2:30pm. I try to make it there for 1 hour each month.
