Does Your Parish Recite the Confiteor?

Just curious, if the confiteor is recited on Sundays etc in your parish…

Depends on the priest offering Mass. There is one who doesn’t lead us into it, but the others do.
 
Depends on the priest - one almost always uses it while the other one uses the option were the Kryie is turned into a litany. The priest who uses the Confiteor also uses EP I a lot - though always with the truncated list of saints.
 
I should have made a poll for this, but I’m a bit slow these days…

Yep! The rubrics do allow otherwise, but I prefer a parish that says the Confiteor.
 
Yes, always.

At my relations parish they did so on weekdays but used the troped Kyrie for Sundays.
 
Sometimes. I have a couple of different parishes around here, some of 'em with lots of different priests, so it varies.

Our venial sins are equally forgiven in the Penitential Rite without it, we must remember, which is its main purpose.

Although of course there is inestimable value in having each and every member of the congregation remind themselves that they have sinned through their own fault and by omission as well as commission.
 
Wow, I’m suprised how many parishes actually use the Confiteor regularly. About 25% of the time my priest uses it, then the other 75% is the extended form of the Kyrie.

Sad thing, really. I prefer the Confiteor at every Mass.
 
We use it every Sunday. No pentitential rite is included at daily mass due to recitation of the Divine Office.
 
It is at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Gainesville, Ga. We had one priest that didn’t use it often, but he has been moved to another parish.
