I think i am called to be married, but the whole idea causes me anxiety attacks (etc, etc.), particularly concerning the person i feel called to marry :crying:  :crying: :banghead: :bigyikes: :hmmm: :doh2: :whacky: (to put it bluntly, he doesn’t act like a Christian a lot of the time…).

I am wondering if you have any testimonials or comments on this theme?

Thanks…
Yep, marriage and family can drive me nuts. But hey, who said that it wouldn’t sometimes?

part of the vocation to Marriage is that you two will be partners supporting EACH OTHER to get to heaven as well as raising your kids to be holy as well… And Spiritual matters matter most–and if he’s not interested in that… Well… Be very careful… It could possibly be a temptation to get both of you off track.
I used to think God wanted me to marry this person who seemed like a good Catholic… but had some serious problems (was sinful) in a particular area… Being focused on this person, even while thinking that was what God wanted, caused me to stumble in a lot of ways… (even though it also caused me to feel closer to God… )… but anyway, i just figured that the Word of God had to be the bottom line: "If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and cast it from you… " Of course, everything causes me to stumble… 😃
Oh, that’s right, Jesus told me to give up everything anyway… 🙂

Your vocation may be to marriage but I’m thinkin’ not this guy! I married at 18 to a Catholic boy (I wasn’t at the time). I remember thinking in the narthex, “well, if it doesn’t work out I can always get a divorce.” Great way to be thinking on a wedding day, isn’t it:tsktsk: So, we did get a divorce then he applied for an annulment and a priest came to interview me. The rest, as they say, is history:extrahappy:

Now I have married the right guy. We’ve been married 19 years and have 2 beautiful (but occasionally aggravating :whacky: ) teen-age daughters.
