Doesn't this statement prove there's a God?

No, I do not. Strawberry is asking why the bible mentions such a thing at all, and so am I. Why would God say such a thing?

I would appreciate any answer.

I read about the Eastern Churches and the Schism. Pride got in the way there as far as I can estimate. However, I admit a deep love for the reverence of their Divine Liturgy. And how I feel connected there, more than anywhere emotionally.

People always tell me I’m stubborn and proud. 🙂 I don’t mean to react badly to anyone. I cringe when “Catholics” fire at the people who have honest questions. It does nothing.
So, if I understand you, the Catholic Church is interesting to you? do you want to find a faith? And pardon me for my lack of knowledge, but what exactly is an agnostic? I’m a little foggy on that.

Are you serious? You can’t answer my questions because you don’t like that I named Strawberry? Please don’t behave like this…it gives religious people a bad rap, it really does. Don’t shake my faith by showing me that you can’t answer. I need your help, is this site not for that purpose?

No because you’re pretending like I was having a normal conversation with him. I was discussing something with ThinkingSapien and then SJ butted in and started twisting everything I was saying.

Also are you saying refusing to discuss something with a trouble maker or about a trouble maker…gives Christians a bad rap? :rolleyes:

Well, if one lives in the middle east in certain areas applying some of them would help the person fit right in. The OT and the Quran are consistent in the style of their prescribed punishment. I question whether many of the rules were ever appropriate for any society; killing some one just doesn’t seem like an appropriate response to a comparatively minor infraction. But I think you can see where I was coming from when I made my original statements.

a trouble maker, really. We are mature now, aren’t we? Can’t anyone ask any question they want? You dissappoint me. I ask for information, on something that is very important to me, and you have some pretense of not being able to answer.
The bad rap is from your attitude, from your refusal to answer. You lost an oppurtunity to make someone’s faith stronger, or to make someone else think a little.
try to realize this, if you will: it’s really nice to post something and have tons of people agree because they believe the same. It is. Most catholics feel that they do their duty by doing just that. But when they get someone who doesn’t share those beliefs, or who needs help, they become quiet and lofty. Well, your duty is me. I’m reaching for faith, this site boasts answers to questions, and you ignore it.
That is what makes me upset. My question is mine, not Strawberry’s…or am I now a troublemaker, since I chose to question when you want agreement and kudos?

the more I sit here, reading, the madder I’m getting. In fact, I probably shouldn’t even write this, but, really, I don’t understand.
Are you a child? I’m a minor, and I don’t act like you. If someone BEGGED me to answer a question, I would do it. So what if someone “twisted” your words? So untwist them, why can’t you?
This is the world wide web, and this a public forum. We can’t really “butt” in if you know what I mean. So your reason for not answering me is not valid. I’m not an idiot. I’m begging for help.
Why hasn’t anyone else stepped up, for that matter? this is not a joke, this is my life, my faith. I can’t go anywhere when I don’t have the map. I have to say, if I didn’t believe in God, this site would probably make me a person with no religion.

Do morals ever change? Maybe if we do this one question at a time I’ll get an answer.
 
by the way, I re-asked you all of this in a pm, or did you not get that? I just am getting rather aggravated saying the same things over and over because you either don’t know or don’t want to help me out.

Editing: You are just proving my point. Why did you make this thread? Are you not comfortable defending your faith? Not even, all I’m asking you to do is clarify a question that does not make sense to me. It’s not all roses! i.e., you can’t just have catholics agree and applaud. you might need to help people, which you have not yet done…

But, I’m just a troublemaker. I’m sorry I burdened you with faith questions. I should’ve asked someone else, like a search engine.
(Forgive my sarcasm. I shouldn’t be so angry, but I am. I want to love the faith, but with people like you, it makes it hard. God enlighten me, I guess.)

lord have mercy! You make me so annoyed, it’s remarkable. I hate to be a hypocrite, but, to quote you: “you and I are done talking.” and we are! I will never make the mistake of trying to find something out to further my faith, at least, not from you. god bless you, you (deleted adjective. not the one you’re thinking, don’t worry.)
