In a friendly debate, a friend of mine said as Catholics we only have to believe in the defined dogmas. So we do not have to believe that abortion is wrong and other things along similar lines. Is there any Church documents that will prove his reasoning wrong?

Abortion maybe not present in the Sacred Tradition but it is against the law that God gave us. Abortion is against the Natural Law. The Church doesnt ned to put it in document for it must be placed in the hearts of all the people as creation of God.

So abortion is morally wrong!!

As Catholics we are required to believe and accept (even if we do not fully understand) ALL teachings of the Church with regard to Faith and Morals and these are contained in the CCC.
Abortion is murder and is a mortal sin against the Fifth Commandment.
