I would second that.It seems that you come from a far different background in faith than the many of the Protestants in the United States.
There is a common identity that many Protestants hold in the United States that only agree on one belief and that is that they are against the Catholic Church. I have a Seventh Day Adventist Church down the street and know this understanding pretty intimately. Maybe the recent personal interactions have started to skew my perception but that is what I am more commonly seeing. Though I come from a background that isn’t so anti-catholic.
You would see quite a different perspective if you lived in the United States.

Like I said, in the US most Protestants who go on “mission” work in predominantely Catholic countries are trying to get Catholics “really saved” which really means try to get them to no longer be Catholic.
I am truly gladdened to hear that is not the case with you.

And when I said which group you belong to I did not mean what denomination, I meant those whose mission work is to get Catholics out of the Catholic Church or those who look to deepen any Christians faith, Catholic included, and encourage them to go back and spread the fire in their own churches. Those were the “motives” I was referring to.
