Domination of the book Industry?

Do you think if we produce better sci fi, horror, love stories (boooring) and books of other genres, we could one day dominate the publishing industry? What about movies, shows?

Ps- if I had a book manuscript which was half christian, half science fiction, which publidher would I go to?
I would’ve preferred to find one in Canada (ya know . . . Help the economy) but I could only find one sci fi publisher, which kind of sucks because they haven’t replied to a manuscript I sent 3 months ago

Im not sure exactly what you’re asking. But in regards to publishers, you might try Games Workshop / Black Library. 90% of their print has elements where religion and sci-fi are HEAVILY intertwined. Granted, theyre the publishing arm for their many roleplaying games and miniatures, but they may serve as a jumping off point to help find other publishers. They annually have freelance writers submit stuff to them as a competition sort of thing, so you may look at that as well.

I don’t know if that helps or not, but good luck to you. I know books can be a hard business, especially since nobody reads anymore LOL Best of luck.

Check out the Catholic Writer’s Guild. I’d link it but apparently my device is on a copying strike today. It’s a professional group, so there is a fee involved, but it’s reasonable and there are published Catholic writers on board there

Anyway, I agree with you, and oddly, there have been a number of sci-fi writers who were Catholic!

I kind of doubt we could dominate the industry, not while people are spending tons on soft porn, romance, and blood and guts thrillers.

My books are Catholic science fiction, and I self published because there isn’t much market, and publishers are reluctant to publish unknown authors. They want writers who will turn out predictable genre books over and over. Don’t get me wrong, I read J.D. Robb and Dean Koontz and Grisham, but I can’t turn out ten books a year, I’ve got other stuff to do.

You also forgot to mention James Patterson. I see his plugs on TV all the time “buy my new book! I wrote it yesterday!”

It was a joke, I know people still read. But unfortunately not as many as before internet.
I myself read mostly philosophy, ethics, and history. I usually read about 2 or 3 books a week.
