I have been searching very hard for a Dominican Breviary in Latin from 1962 or later (Breviarium juxta ritum Sacri Ordinis Praedicatorum), but they seem to keep slipping through my hands! Is anyone able to point me towards either a second-hand copy or a portable new edition? I have been able to find good reprints of the Roman Breviary but the Dominican rite seems to be much harder to track down, except in incorporeal form! Meanwhile the print-on-demand paperbacks do not exactly fit in a jacket pocket; nor do they have pretty ribbons for page-keeping. I am very grateful in advance for any help you may be able to give me!

Thank you for the tip! I have in fact written to Fr. Thompson, and though very helpful he has been unable to suggest any avenue I have not already explored.

Thanks, that’s good advice - I’ve had an alert set up there for a while. Perhaps I should list my usual favourite tactics, which I’ve so far exhausted:

BookFinder.com
abebooks (alert set up)
ebay
Loome Theological Booksellers
Henry Stachyra books
St Philip’s Theological Books
Maranatha Books
Bookloft
  • a Google alert a few other little things.
I suppose I’m hoping someone knows a really reliable theological bookseller without a big online presence, or some other source I haven’t thought of which isn’t easily found online. But I suspect the answer is simply to be patient and watch the obvious places like a hawk.
