For those in the NE Ohio area around Youngstown or who care to drive, these Dominicans are celebrating their 800th anniversary at this very beautiful church. I used to belong to this parish and still occasionally attend. I plan on attending one of these at least.

Scroll down under events to see times and days. There will be 3 Masses beginning Fri. July 1 (low Mass) plus 2 other Fridays–July 22 (Sung Mass) and August 19 (Solemn High Mass) all in the Medieval Dominican Rite.

The Dominican Rite is an extremely beautiful Mass, extremely reverent, extremely ancient.
Not that the Ordinary Form Roman Rite can’t be reverent, the Dominican Rite is just so beautiful.

Yes, the Dominican Rite is very beautiful. There are some differences between it and the Roman Rite; such as preparation of the chalice, the Confiteor, and a few other items.

But I real love it. 👍
