Our church has “Dominican Tenebrae” tomorrow at 8am. I have never been and don’t know what to expect so does anyone know how long it usually lasts? Thank you!

I’m going to Tenebrae at a Dominican church this morning too 
Mine starts at 10am and there is a talk scheduled at 10.30am but I would think that’s a bit optimistic. It’s usually 30-40 minutes.
It is a combination of the Offices of Reading and Morning Prayer (Matins and Lauds in the old language).
It lasts a bit longer than an ordinary sung office because there are special chants. And usually some periods of silence as the candles are extinguished.

It is a beautiful service, and regardless of the time, is well worth every minute. Very moving!
