Dominionism

What is the goal of Catholicism/Christianity…to bring the word of God to the world?

This is not a poll obviously but I would like to hear some thoughts on the struggle that has taken place throughout recent history…. what can come of it, and where we are going. I contend that this divide between Secularism and Theism will not be closed. It will get worse, or at least stay the same. This is not satisfactory in relation to the development of a prosperous, and joyous society.

As a Catholic……are you a Dominionist? Do you believe as in Genesis 1:26

“Then God said ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground”

How does this wash within the political theatre? Do you believe that Christians alone are biblically mandated to occupy all secular institutions until Christ returns? Does dominionist thinking preclude any coalition between believers and unbelievers?

These questions are what any upright, strong minded, and intellectually pursuant person should ask themselves. What are they doing to us…and what are we doing to them? Is it real? Is it relevant? Will we ever come to an agreement…and what happens to our societies when we don’t?

This is part of my fear. I am afraid of religion. I am afraid of Christians, Muslims, Jews…etc… There was a time when I was young that I was a person of God, and I prayed…and I felt guilt……and then I read the Bible….and I knew! I knew in my heart that something horrible had happened to us……to me! The Bible itself broke my faith…and I knew that I could never be a part of such thinking again….but that moment of enlightenment also brought forth a new position in society. I was immediately at odds with the mystical half our our being. I was immediately at war. So as it is a Christian’s goal to spread the word of their God….I feel that it is my goal to help you leave the shackles of your mind. I must lead you away from mysticism…I must lead you to reason… I must do my part to keep the world together, and not be destroyed through religious dominionism.

True love is unconditional my friends, and this is not your gods love……free yourself, and help our world…………

It’s been 2000 years….and you’re still tearing us apart.

“Then God said ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground”
This is to all human beings. Human beings are to rule over all that stuff and we do. What’s the problem?

Reason is the reason I am Christian to begin with. Reason easily tells us that God exists. History tells us Christ was real, and reason once again shows us that the historical account of Christ in the Gospels was real.

Give me an army saying the Rosary and I will conquer the world."
–Pope Pius IX

uhhhhhmmm yea…Did I mention something about dominionism?

Hahaha, that’s a great quote. Depends what we mean by the “world” doesn’t it. Many ant-God types get very caught up in the world and worldly pleasures that lead us away from God. I think Jesus says somewhere how Satan is the prince of the world. Padre Pio called the Rosary his weapon. You think he was going around wacking people with his beads? That’s not what it means.

I’m telling you, if everyone prayed the Rosary, the world would be conquered, maybe not in the way you’re thinking.

I don’t think I would trust you to translate for me what the Pope meant…your analogy is weak regarding Padre Pio also…of course he wasn’t walking around wacking people with his beads…but what does that have to do with intent? Do you feel that the pen can be as mighty as the sword? Weapons come in all forms…think more deeply please. Religious folk are always trying to assume things, read into things, twist things to make them support a notion…So the Pope said world…and who knows what he meant then eh? It’s just the popes little secret? I would agree with that. Maybe he shouldn’t have said anything…

Think,

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!? What are you trying to get from people here by asking these questions?

Oh, Paris, don’t let Think get to you. The world’s full of enlightened intellectuals who want to save us from ourselves. Best to just pray for them.

It’s a dirty job…but I’ll keep plucking away

Even if I was anti-catholic (which I’m not…I’m anti stupidity if anything)… what would that have to do with you? You’re not Catholic are you?

I’m in RCIA. Does that answer your question?

I need to pray for you bad, brother!😉

PLease…none of you pray for me. I do not know your qualifications…

My own mind’s just fine, thanks anyway. You see, Think, it is by reason that I come to faith (with the help of grace). Please, do all of us, especially yourself, a favor. Before posting any more challenges to Catholicism on this board, read (Pocket) Handbook of Christian Apologetics by Peter Kreeft and Ronald K. Tacelli. It’s just a little thing, you could probably go through it in a day or two.
It might help.

You came to the wrong forum if you don’t want anyone praying for you. I’d wager a guess that you’ve got several thousand unwanted pray-ers sending their pointless words to a non-existent god (from your point of view, of course :D)

Yeah, why is Think here anyways? We would love to help him but instead, he’s trying to like, “do something” that’s not acceptable.

I PM him and asked why he was posting garbage and all this and he was like, **“I’m just trying to help you guys…before you hurt someone!” **
