I usually like to work one-on-one with people when donating time or volunteering, instead of donating to online charities. Also, I don’t know if I always trust online charities because I really don’t know if my money is going directly to the people. Anyway, today I donated online to Catholic Relief Services (I wanted to do a good deed since it’s Friday), but I was wondering if this was an organization anyone deals with and knows how much goes to the people and if it actually helps them???

Bless you for your charity.

Catholic Relief Services](http://crs.org/) is an organization created by the U.S. bishops initially to bring aid to Europe in the aftermath of World War II.

CRS is the official overseas relief and development organization of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to provide humanitarian aid whenever and wherever it is needed.

You can read about CRS from their website’s history and mission statement. The Wikipedia article on the organization does appear to correlate information about the organization.

The involvement of bishops on the board of directors and throughout its history, as well as the many causes that CRS has been or remains involved with (including the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and 2010 Haiti earthquake) confirms that your donation will not be wasted in the slightest.
