Jimmy, I’ve missed your posts and the strawmen you just can’t help positing.
I’ve been a Protestant for 49 years, grew up in the Church affiliated with Wheaton College, and have NEVER heard anyone (other than you trying to bait us) make the claims (or assumptions) you make above.
Most of us try HARD to obey God’s word (and that includes the commandments)
A lot of us get married
A lot of us go to Church
A lot of us are baptized…
What do you think your post accomplishes?
Hello
khutcheson,
I know that and my question is why?
If one has a belief that we are all “saved” be grace alone, then what is the purpose or need for these additional works?
Does that mean that the Catholic Church is right?
Most of us Catholics try HARD to obey God’s word (and that includes the commandments)
WE get married
WE go to Church
WE are all baptized…
I have, for many years now, heard protestant non-Catholic Christians criticize the Roman Catholic Church, because, “They say good works get you into heaven and that’s wrong, we are saved by grace alone”.
There are some "Christians out there, who don’t even know that Roman Catholics are Christians.
Well, Marriage, Baptism and so on, are all acts, they are religious acts, and they are religious acts of good works, because they are all pleasing to God…
Therefore, my question is -
If you are “Once Saved Always Saved”, or “Born-Again”, or “Saved by Grace Alone”…Then why is it necessary to do these other “man-made” rituals required by the “Church”.
What I am actually attempting to show, is that, Roman Catholic Christians and non-Catholic Christians have much more in common than not.
Most of our disagreements are based on semantics.
Thank you for your post.
