Very often we are reminded not to take Jesus out of Christmas season. It is also important not to take Virgin Mary out of your Christmas holiday.

Think about what she had gone through for following God’s will.

Also, just to add onto this one. Let’s not forget about the faith of St. Joseph. I can’t even imagine his first thoughts when the plan began to unfold. Sometimes it appears that St. Joseph is forgotten to a certain degree…
 
The Celibacy of St. Mary: Forever a Virgin?

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Even if Joseph and Mary did not have any other children after “she had brought forth her firstborn Son,” there should be no doubt that “they came together” and that they knew one another: in the biblical sense.

They were married, for Heaven’s sake! And, it is expressed this way in the Bible. Why would Joseph and Mary remain celibate? St. Paul maintained, “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled…” -Hebrews 13:4. No dishonor; no disgrace.

So, it does appear scriptural and biblical, that the honorable, blessed mother of Jesus: isn’t really the “Perpetual Virgin” or “First Nun” after all. And, this does make more sense to the average Old Testament believing Jew, who needs the Gospel of Jesus. (Dogmas can be an obstacle.)

If I (a former Rosary recitor) can swallow this, then maybe others can too. Besides, we’re supposed to accept, love and digest the Word of God, yes? Some may yet doubt; but when we get to Heaven, then we will see.

Luke 11:27-28.
“And it happened, as He [Jesus] spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him,
“Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”
But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
(Mark 3:31-35. Luke 8:19-21.)
 
Though sanctimonious, there are no Scriptures that confirm the Catholic dogmatic version of Mary’s (sinless immaculate) life: (The assumption that she was spared from all sin, in order for it to be possible for the Savior to enter the world as God Incarnate). Jesus’ divine nature: has always been independent of fallen mankind, including Mary. He’s God, for Heaven’s sake!
-And so, the non-biblical doctrines of Mary’s “immaculate conception,” sinless life, celibacy (“perpetual virginity”), and that she has somehow miraculously and essentially become “our life…sweetness…and…hope,” do remain among questionable beliefs.

St. Mary: Co-Redeemer with Jesus (Redemptrix)?
Luke 2:41-50:
42 “And when Jesus was twelve years old…
48 So when they [Joseph and Mary] saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”
49 And He said to them, “Why do you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.”
(No one can be a co-redeemer; only a messenger of The Redeemer.)

Did Jesus have any kin siblings through Mary and Joseph?
-A (relatively) good question, yes?

Matthew 13:55-56.
“Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us?” (Mark 6:3.)

Galatians 1:18-19. (Paul’s visit with Peter.)
“Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.”
(There are two other James’ in the New Testament.)

And if anyone tried to take Mary out of Christmas…a nativity scene would look very very strange.

Ya. I wouldn’t change the traditional depiction of the nativity.

I just have the conviction (by reading the Bible) that Jesus is the only Mediator between God and mankind, and that we are to pray to the Father in Jesus’ Name, and to no one else. There’s no other “middleman.”

The apostles, disciples, and most first century believers prayed solely to God (The Trinity). Praying to Mary and others came along way later. The Apostle Paul always taught (and evidently all of the New Testament Apostles taught as well):
“For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men: the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the proper time…” -1 Timothy 2:5-6.

John 14:6.
“I am The Way, and The Truth, and The Life. No one can come to the Father, but by Me.” –Jesus.

John 14:13-14.
“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” -Jesus
(The One and Only Mediator Between God and Mankind).

John 16:23-28.
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” -Jesus.

Once a Catholic’s joyous salvation is established, then they can proceed to understand, answer, and accept the following:

Was Jesus sacrificed once and for all?

Or, is He the sacrificial “Victim” continually, again and again (as oft as we sin, or, as oft as we gather) on a daily basis?

Romans 6:8-10. -Paul, the Apostle, to the Church at Rome, First Century A.D.
8 “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.”

Hebrews 7:22-28. Paul, to the Christian Jews (and us).

In Hebrews, Paul does profoundly (if not prophetically) touch on familiar fallible similarities of Jewish and Catholic priesthoods, as compared to Jesus’ own infallible, unchangeable and non-transferable Priesthood (similar to the order of Melchizedek).
(-Mel was the sole priest in his order.)

Hebrews 9:11-28. Paul.
11 “But Christ came as a High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once and for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”

Hebrews 10:10-25. Paul.
10 “…we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified…18 Now where there is remission of these [sins], there is no longer an offering for sin…”

Believe: The Promise.

Dear Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner, and so undeserving of Your mercy.
But I call upon You now with all conviction, and I ask You now to please forgive me all of my sins, for You know them all.
You are the only One who can forgive me, and take away my sins.
You are the only One that can save me from sin, death, Hell, and the wrath of God (by that one and only historic Sacrifice You made for us, in Your Body and Blood, while on the cross).
And, I thank You now for bearing the cross for us, paying the ransom in full, and setting us free from Satan’s lies and strongholds.

(We cannot save ourselves, and, there is no Church or religious work of ours that can save us.)

The Greek word “Gospel” does mean: “Good News!”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 6:23.

“…that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” -John 3:15.

“…that through death He [Jesus] might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the Devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” –Hebrews 2:14-15.

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” –Jesus. John 8:36.

Paul and Barnabus preach the Gospel. Acts 13:48:
“Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord.
And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.”
(This calls for a celebration!)

We are made blameless and worthy by our faith in the historic shed Blood of Jesus, The Word of God, and the continual sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:4-8. Paul.
4 “But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared:
5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Our “works of righteousness” follow us after Jesus saves us.

We do not do works of righteousness (in order) to get saved.

Ephesians 2:8-10. Paul.
8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Romans 4:5-8. Paul. (Romans, chapter 4)
5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies [redeems] the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.” -Psalm 32.
(Apart from works, and prescribed penances.)

In the New Testament, Luke, the writer of the Book of Acts bears out the fact that Paul (Saul) was an adamant fanatical Jew of Jews, who persecuted the first Christians; but then had a miraculous conversion to Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 1:8-11. Paul.
8 “Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
10 but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

(A “Gentile” is any non-Jew.)

It doesn’t matter what you believe about Mary, why can’t you guy stop for a minute and think and say:

These many Christians have forgotten what Virgin Mary had gone through for following God’s will.

Since you agree with his (maybe its the animus against the Church talking?) texts out of context (remember what God told Moses about what would happen to those Israelites who APPROACHED the holy mountain?) may I suggest a few sects that have taken the next logical step and REWRITTEN the Bible?

There are the JWs for starters.

I think you’ll like their “more literalist than thou” approach to Scripture.

You don’t list the Catholic church, but mentioned earlier a statement about reciting the rosary. So were you at some point a practical Catholic or ever confirmed ???

Yes, I was born into a Catholic family, raised Catholic (in San Diego, and Orange County, California), and voluntarilly attended Mass everyday (almost every day) for three years. I even considered the priesthood.
My sisters were attending protestant churches, and invited me to check it out. It seemed rather non-catholic, but, I learned of the Bible’s inerrancy, the prophetic Scriptures fullfilled in Jesus - and of the remaining ones to be fulfilled; what other religions and cults teach, how to share the Gospel to them; and heard a lot of good music and ministry from Christian radio programs. And, all of those Christian concerts - wow!

So, by reading the Bible, I came to the fork in the road (Scripture VS. Dogma) and stopped attending The Catholic Church, and stopped praying with (reciting) the Rosary, etc.

The original Christian Faith is found in the New Tesament.
And, the following Scripture reference sums up what is to be done by all professing believers in Jesus and the Gospel:
