Don't think the world is too secular?

What comes to mind is “being in the world, but not of the world.” Yes, we must evangelize the world. Like St. Francis, we must preach constantly, and if necessary, use words (or something to that effect). The trick, I think, is getting ourselves so much into God that our whole life speaks the gospel. I think Pope Francis is providing one heck of a model so far. Now if we could all mirror the love and humility of Christ, we could send waves into the world instead of weak little ripples.
I like the post. I feel one of our problems is the reverse of something you said…our problem is NOT getting more of ourselves into God, but getting more of God in US. A subtle, but big difference!.. peace.

Au contraire! We must get ourselves more into God SO that He can get more into us! Peace.

John 15 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine; you the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. 6If any one abide not in me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up, and cast him into the fire, and he burneth. 7If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you will, and it shall be done unto you. 8In this is my Father glorified; that you bring forth very much fruit, and become my disciples. 9As the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you. Abide in my love. 10If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father’s commandments, and do abide in his love. 11These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled.
