By “worldly people”, I am assuming you mean hedonists.

In my opinion, and undoubtedly in the opinion of orthodox Christians, “worldly people” (i.e., hedonists) would definitely be slaves to the subjective experience of pleasure via the release of dopamine. If your end goal in life is to attain as much pleasure as you can, then you are a slave to that goal.

To add an interesting twist, how many orthodox christians would knowingly buy hedonists car if they knew they were going to use all the money for drugs and didn’t need it to live off of?

As a former sex addict who had sex with hundreds of women (some men have been with thousands and thousands) I can attest to the fact that sex becomes desensitized. So one woman feels unfufilling. Not doing it in crazy places with women I just met that night and we just decided where we would have sex… I miss all that a lot.

I love my wife and will never cheat on her, but while I was not living according to God’s teachings, and sleeping with all these woman, I though I was the man. I later realized I was screwing myself the whole time…

I’ll try to piece together how this relates to my original post which you quoted.

No, truly orthodox Christians (and all moral people) would not buy the car (unless they had some legitimately grave reason for doing so), because there are so many other places to buy used cars; your cooperation in buying drugs is extremely close; and furthermore, your scenario implies that all of your money goes to drugs, anyway - that that is the intended monetary destination for every single penny you’re giving to him/her. With regards to “slavery to pleasure”, which I was talking about previously… I still am not too sure where you’re going with that, unless you’re referring to Christians being slaves to car-purchasing, or the car-seller a slave to drugs. Even then, it still doesn’t flow.

Well, if you’re saying that traditional Christians wouldn’t cooperate with a hedonist’s slavery to pleasure, then yes I can agree. Again, your underlying point isn’t clear, unless that was your point. In that case, then that - no offense meant - was kind of a no-brainer, anyway.
