Does anyone know where I can find this online? I’ve only been able to find ONE place that still has them, but they’re leather-bound which I can’t afford. Thanks in advance!

The Douay-Rheims is everywhere.

www.drbo.org is a freebie. You can order one from Baronius Press for a decent amount www.baroniuspress.com and Lareto Publications have one out which run even cheaper around 45 books on various site. Google Douay-Rheims and you are sure to find the wonderful Douay-Rheims anywhere

I ordered one and received it the first week of February this year. Unfortunately, the books of Proverbs and Sirach have been intertwined somehow. When I brought it to the attention of the vendor, he promptly sent me a replacement–he did not want the ‘defective’ Bible. I still have it, wondering what to do with this. It is the pocket sized DR from Baronius.

Thank you all for your responses…I actually did google douay rheims and found some links, but not really what I was looking for. Perhaps I should have been a bit more specific. I am looking for this to send to a man in prison. To comply with prison rules, the bibles must not be hard bound and must be new, shipped directly from the bookstore. I will check out the links that were offered. thanks so much for your help! :tiphat:

If it is defective you could always make it more so. 😃 I’ll explain that.

I recently did something similar with on Old Dominican Breviary. It was already quite worn. And it appeared that many years ago someone had cut out many, many psalms and other prayers from it. It was already anything but usable.

So, I took it and began cutting out psalms, other scripture passages, and prayers myself.

I took these passages and pasted them into journals that were going to be given to teens on an annual retreat. It looked nice, the teens got some surprise scripture passages as they made their way through the journals, and I got some use out of something that would have otherwise been useless.

Maybe you or someone you know might find a similar use for your defective bible.

I have the D-R on my Kindle 2. I paid about 3 bucks for it and it has good navigation.
