A friend of mine got re-baptized into her sect. She was born and raised Catholic but married a Protestant and began going to his church and began using work as an excuse to not being able to go to any Catholic church. Yesterday my girlfriend told me that her cousin was going to get baptized and I felt angry/disappointed because she didn’t tell anyone and because I couldn’t say anything but pray for her.

How can I explain to her and future confused Catholics and question asking Protestants:

Why do we baptize babies?
Why can’t I get baptized again in my “church”?
and
Catholic baptism isn’t valid and condemns you to hell.

Because Christ wanted Babies to share in His Kingdom, He specifically says so in Scripture.
Because as St. Paul says there is only ONE Baptism.
Catholic Baptism is according to the Scriptures.

Baptism is salvation; it gives us sanctifying grace. Now salvation is a free gift; it is not earned, as even the Protestants will admit. Therefore, we can give Baptism to infants; they have not done anything to earn it, but it is not something that even adults earn.

Mary was saved in the first moment of her conception, proving that salvation is a free gift. Since Mary could be given sanctifying grace (and so much more) even at conception, then Baptism can be given to infants.

Baptism can only be received once; thereafter, if you lose sanctifying grace through actual mortal sin, it is returned to your soul through repentence and the Sacrament of Confession.

The form Protestant use for Baptism is the Catholic form: I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
